About Lauren Morgan

Welcome. It is my true honor and pleasure to share what I’ve been blessed to learn.

My life is dedicated to sharing the gifts of dreaming, herbalism, womb reclamation and Earth-reconnection. Though they may seem different, within my own heart and mind these seeds of healing share in common their re-membering and re-weaving effect on the soul.

You may read more about my teachers and my professional background below. And for more information about the herbalism that I practice and teach, go here.

I am blessed to live in the woods with my family on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula, where we do our best to tend, protect and steward this bit of the ancestral lands of the nəxʷsƛ̕ay̕əm̕ (S’Klallam) People.

May my work serve the Web of Life and the Good Dream of this beautiful blessed Mother Earth.

With Gratitude to All of My Teachers

My Parents - My life path began in  Kirkland, WA where my parents provided a sense of rock solid middle world grounding to balance my innate wild nature. Their unconditional love remains a blessing to me today.

Molly Langdon - Molly, a wonderful wise witchy botanist/herbalist, was my first herbal teacher. At age 20, I was blessed to spend a spring with her in a botanical medicine apprenticeship that sparked my lifelong love affair with the plant beings.

Bastyr University - As they tend to do, the plants stole my heart and changed the trajectory of my life, inspiring me to leave the school I was at and attend Bastyr University where I completed a two-year degree in Herbal Sciences. My time at Bastyr grounded my wild spirit in the practical science of the herbal path. I’ve continued my relationship with Bastyr, serving as the staff teaching assistant for their Plants and Ceremony class.

Lin Lungta - Now in the spirit world, over a five-year period Lin taught me the basic skills of energetics and opened me to the practical ways of working with the spirit world and of honing my intuition. During this time I started offering free energy readings and healings, eventually transitioning to charging for them.

Tierney Salter - Now in the spirit world, Tierney was the founder and owner of the Herbalist, one of the oldest herb stores in Seattle. She was my boss and mentor for the seven years I worked at and eventually managed her store. I like to describe working in an apothecary as “residency for a young herbalist,” and it was during this time I earned my “10,000 hours” of herbalism, learning how to listen deep and true to people’s stories and needs, how to share my knowledge from the heart and mind in a good way, and how to custom formulate medicines for people.

School of Life - As is true for many of us, Life has been a great and deep teacher. The experiences I’ve endured have been the truest arrow to point the direction of my healing work. Miscarriages, sexual assault, giving over of personal authority, challenging childbirths, an NDE, plus a rip-roaring dark night of the soul over a seven year period - and recovering/thriving in their aftermath (with a lot of help, blood, sweat and tears) - have become the deepest sources of my medicine.

Students and Clients - I have worked with hundred of folks in private practice over the past fifteen years as a massage therapist, hypnotherapist, spirit worker, herbalist, intuitive reader, birth doula, health consultant and teacher. Ten years ago I began teaching folk and plant spirit medicine classes, including on herbs and dreaming and women’s/womb health. These days all of these modalities are coalesced inside my being and are offered as one. I am so grateful for the chance to have served and learned from all of the beautiful people who have come to me for healing and for classes.

Jeremy Taylor - Invited to share my work on Herbs and Dreams at a dreaming conference, I was introduced to the work of Jeremy Taylor. Now in the spirit world, Jeremy was a dream pioneer who believed deeply in bringing the dreaming back to the people. I was blessed to be mentored by Jeremy for a time and certified as a dream teacher in his school in 2017. I’ve been teaching community dream work since.

Beautiful Little Dancing Crow / Dr. Deborah Frances - Spirit brought Dancing Crow and I together via a dream I received on a vision quest in 2014, and she has been a true blessing in my life since. Lakota elder, naturopath, herbalist and woman of spirit, Dancing Crow has shaped my medicine greatly by grounding me in traditional women’s medicine, shamanic healing methods, dreaming and ceremony. Her presence re-awakened my indigenous soul (which we all have) and expanded my understanding of living in service to all of our relations.

The Grandmothers - In 2015, in vision I became introduced to the Grandmothers, the name that this wisdom stream gave herself for the ancient, forever and from everywhere, lineage of the divine feminine and ancient goddess. It is from the Grandmothers that I have received the depth of my womb teachings, and they are present in all of my healing work, teachings and ceremony.

Plants - Through my early training in intuition and energetics, and with the original modeling by Molly, my ability to communicate with the plants and nature was awoken early on in my herbalism studies and it is truly they, the plants, who are the teachers and healers. Through my dreams, conversations and journeys with them they continue to open me up to deeper layers of their mystery, and to expand my soul embodiment in the process.

Wombs - Through life experiences, the Grandmothers, and my own inner journeys and outer research, I’ve become a deep apprentice to the mystery of the individual and cosmic womb. I believe the womb is an incredibly untapped mystery (a result of living in patriarchy) and have found in my own journey and through serving others, that tapping into her mystery, and healing the wounds that she holds, is an incredible catalyst for healing and reclamation for women.  I also believe womb reclamation is essential for rebirthing the new world.

Dreams- My dreams have been the primary compass with which I’ve navigated my life, made decisions, received guidance and fostered my inner evolution since my early twenties. I give great thanks to my dreams, and that which dreams me, for the chance to live a life of purpose and magic. My life would be utterly different in quality, tone and structure were it not for the dream’s beneficence.

Forest of the Olympic Peninsula - I was blessed in 2018 to move to the Olympic Peninsula, at the base of the beautiful, wise and ancient Olympic mountains. Living on and with the land, the mountains, and all of its beings has woven me into far deeper layers of dreaming. The mountains and land are now inextricably linked into the healing and ceremony work that happens here.

My Family - My days are grounded and blessed by the presence of my family - my husband and two children. They provide the foundation that holds me as I continue upon the walk of life. They are my greatest loves and greatest teachers.

Teachers and Authors I Love but haven’t studied with: Mātā Amritānandamayī (known as Amma), Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Martin Prechtel, Sobonfu Some, Carl Jung, Rosemary Gladstar, Paramahansa Yogananda, Toko-pa Turner, Robert Moss, Rosita Arvigo.

Laurel Crown Healing

The Laurel tree, etymological origin of my namesake Lauren, is a lifelong plant teacher and ally in my work/walk. As with all plants and beings of creation, there are endless layers of mystery to their medicine. One layer of the Laurel tree is found in the history of the famed Oracles of Delphi.

Excerpt from my book Seasonal Herbalism, “These priestesses in the ancient Greek world delivered prophecies to the people that traveled far and wide to seek their counsel. For millennia, the holy site at Delphi was considered sacred to the ancient Greek goddess Gaia, their name for Mother Earth. These oracles spoke on behalf of Gaia when giving their prophecy. They spoke for the Earth. They also wore crowns of Laurel.

This is the way it was at Delphi for millennia—women speaking for Gaia, for the Earth on behalf of all of life. Around 5,000 years ago, a shift occurred worldwide, including in Greece, marking the takeover of female gods by male gods. In other words, this was the dawn of the patriarchal era. At Delphi, the young male god Apollo arrived wanting the power of the holy land and oracles for himself. To accomplish this feat, Apollo slayed the great python, who was the guardian protector of the site. With this slaying, Apollo usurped Gaia’s throne at Delphi and the site became sacred to him. Moving forward, the priestesses no longer spoke on behalf of Gaia; they no longer spoke for Earth mother and the web of life. They were now made to speak on behalf of the ambitious young male god Apollo. We can imagine how Apollo’s prophecy might sound compared to Gaia’s. It could be said that Apollo’s voice still governs the direction that the people are marching.”

Laurel Crown Healing is a prayer that the voice of the feminine and the cries of the Earth once again be heard, respected, honored and venerated. May the wounds that made us forget the cry of the Earth be healed, that we all might be re-enthroned as emanations of her brilliance, in love with her and all of our relations upon her skin.
